Garmin released eight new fenix watches in their fenix 7 series, and it might be confusing as to which one you want to purchase. Here is a quick and easy breakdown of the differences between models and how to figure out which one is best for you.
Step 1 - Watch Size
There are three different size displays and watch bands that you can choose from depending on your preferences. The fenix 7s is the smallest, fenix 7 in the middle and fenix 7X is the largest.
Watch | Band Size | Wrist Circumference | Case Diameter | Screen Size |
fenix 7S | 20 mm | 108–182 mm (4.25-7.16”) | 42 mm | 1.2" |
fenix 7 | 22 mm | 125–208 mm (4.96-8.18”) | 47 mm | 1.3" |
fenix 7X | 26 mm | 127–210 mm (5-8.26”) | 51 mm | 1.4" |
Step 2 - Lens Type/Additional Features
Model | Type of Lens | Additional Features | Watches Included |
Base model | Corning Gorilla Glass DX is designed to be scratch-resistant, but it is not as durable as the Power Sapphire lens. |
| |
Solar model | The Power Glass lens also uses Corning Gorilla Glass DX , but adds the ability to convert sunlight into battery power. |
| |
Sapphire Solar model | The Power Sapphire lens has the ability to convert sunlight into battery power and is also incredibly durable. It is the third hardest mineral, right behind diamond. As a result, the lens is much harder to scratch than glass. |
