Here’s everything you need to know about the Diadora Equipe Corsa.

Say ‘Ciao’ To Speed

A pair of Diadora Equipe Corsa running shoes

Diadora designers pulled out all the stops when they imagined the Equipe Corsa.

Not only is this shoe ultralight, it’s powerful enough to help you reach top speeds on roads and tracks.

The shoe profile mimics the natural shape and performance of your foot, packing the heel with plush cushioning and expanding the toe box for a stable, responsive ride.

“The entire contour of the shoe hugs the heel and midfoot to deliver the security and support you need for fast speeds, but opens up a lot at the forefoot to create a really stable landing platform. Italian design at it’s finest,” says one reviewer.

The Equipe Corsa uses patented DD Anima midsole foam to add responsive spring to each step. The unique expanded EVA blend used to create DD Anima foam was created after years of testing to find the perfect balance of response and cushioning. This foam is ultralight, highly durable, and can take on longer distances.

In addition to the poppy foam, the unique shape of the Equipe Corsa’s heel helps facilitate smooth transitions and a rolling ride.

An added 2 cm of foam at the tip of the toe adds more leverage to your toe-offs, to make them feel even more propulsive.

A tall stack of DD Anima foam in the heel offers excellent shock absorption for landings, while a TPU plate embedded in the midsole energizes each step.

“I was definitely interested to see how the more beveled heel would work out, but it had a really nice rolling effect and there’s plenty of cushioning throughout the midsole to create a comfortable feeling while running,” says one reviewer.

The TPU plate works with a strategically constructed Power Transfer Bridge. This specially carved area of the midsole aligns under the midfoot and helps facilitate quick transitions from heel to toe, resulting in a more powerful run.

The outsole of the Diadora Equipe Corsa running shoes

The snappy midsole meets a durable outsole that offers plenty of traction on slick roads and tracks.

The outsole along the heel uses Duratech 5000 rubber, while the forefoot is coated in lighter blown rubber, helping to keep the shoe lightweight.

“The grip is good for when you’re pushing the pace. I also like that I get a good ground feel and sensory feedback when I’m running in the Corsa,” says one reviewer.

Che Bella! Pretty, Light Upper Keeps You Cool

The upper on the Diadora Equipe Corsa running shoes

As with the midsole, thoughtful design continues throughout the upper of the Equipe Corsa.

The shoe is draped in a paper-thin air mesh that’s anything but delicate. The see-through, engineered mesh is breathable and flexible, moving with your foot while offering bare bones support, keeping the Corsa lightweight and fast.

“The see-through mesh with its hexagonal design pattern begs you to wear cool socks, or no socks at all,” says one reviewer.

With or without socks, our reviewers found the Corsa to be immediately comfortable as soon as they put them on, in typical Diadora fashion.

The footbed is coated in a soft, suede material that is not only breathable but makes the shoe comfortable for bare feet. Suede detailing is continued throughout the shoe at the tongue and along the heel cup, offering a super-soft next-to-skin feel that eliminates chafing.

“I really liked the suede heel collar. It’s really minimalist and not as cushioned as a traditional shoe, but the designers let the material do the work by creating a next-to-skin feel instead of relying on padding,” says one reviewer.

While the heel and midfoot secure your foot in place over the TPU plate and DD Anima foam, the dramatic taper in this area could make this shoe uncomfortable for individuals with low arches or a wide midfoot.

“I don’t think I’d recommend for a wide foot or flat arches, since they do taper quite a bit at the midfoot,” says one reviewer.

Final Thoughts

Whether you wear the Equipe Corsa on race day or for uptempo training, you’re sure to love the impossibly lightweight feel and poppy ride.

The unique shape of the Equipe Corsa works with fast Diadora technology to create effortlessly fast transitions on the run, while providing the stability you need to go the distance.

“These shoes are a really cool geometrical experiment. The forefoot is open and triangulates naturally, while the narrow heel and midfoot add security and mimic the natural foot shape,” says one reviewer.

Combined with responsive DD Anima foam and a full-length TPU plate, the Equipe Corsa offers consistent energy return.

“They’re stable at high speeds and plush enough to handle longer runs,” says one reviewer, who also recommends the Equipe Corsa for road races, tempo runs, and generally looking cool.
