Mackenzie Havey

Journalist, coach, mindfulness master

Ultra running, trans-Pacific rowing, Alaskan cycling. Mackenzie writes about all of it. She’s well-versed in endurance sports, exercise science and gear, but her background in sports and exercise psychology led her to investigate the link between athletics and mindfulness. Mackenzie now teaches the fundamentals of running and mental training at the University of Minnesota and in 2017 published the book “Mindful Running: How Meditative Running can Improve Performance and Make You a Happier, More Fulfilled Person.”

Mackenzie lives and works in Minneapolis with her husband and daughter. When she’s not typing, she’s hitting the trails on foot, on a bike or on skis.
